Abstract

Patients  who  undergo  surgery  with  regional  anesthesia  may
experience  hemodynamic  impairment.  The  warmer  blanket  is  a  nonpharmacological therapy that can be used to address hemodynamic problems.
This study aimed to determine the effect of warmer blanket administration on
the  hemodynamics  of  postoperative  patients  with  regional  anesthesia  in  the
recovery room of Kanjuruhan Hospital, Malang Regency. The method used was
a quasi-experimental design with two groups, pre-test and post-test. The sample
consisted of regional anesthesia patients who met the research criteria, with 18
respondents  in  each  group.  Hemodynamics,  including  blood  pressure,  pulse,
temperature,  and  oxygen  saturation  (SpO2),  were  measured  using  an
observation sheet before the intervention and at the first and second 15 minutes
after  the  intervention.  The  Wilcoxon  test  showed  that  the  warmer  blanket
affected  systolic  blood  pressure,  diastolic  blood  pressure,  temperature,  and
SpO2  (p  =  0.000),  while  the  conventional  blanket  affected  systolic  blood
pressure, temperature, and SpO2. The Mann-Whitney test showed differences
between the two groups (p < 0.05). The warmer blanket can be one of the nonpharmacological  efforts  to  overcome  hemodynamic  changes  in  postoperative
patients,  while  still  considering  the  patient's  condition  and  collaborating  with
the medical team.
