PENERIMAAN MASYARAKAT PADA PENDERITA GANGGUAN JIWA

Abstract : Patients with mental disorders until now still in view as a strange and frightening public, the lack of understanding of the public about mental disorders cause people with mental disorders are less acceptable in the public. The purpose of this research to determine the acceptance of public to mental disorder.The design was used qualitative research used descriptive phenomenology approach. Data collected by in-depth interview method then analyzed was used collaizzi data analysis technique. Sampling in this research was used purposive sampling technique with the number of 4 participants.The result of the research was the finding of 10 themes that is 1) do not consider public with mental disorder; 2) There were still little public attention to people with mental disorders; 3) Treat public with mental disorders inhumanely; 4) The public had not fully recieved mental sufferers; 5) Consider inner pressure as the cause of mental disorders; 6) Consider spirits as the cause of mental disorders; 7) Assume not strong science as the cause of mental disorders; 8) Wanting public with mental disorders can re-interact with the public; 9) Obtaining the attention of health workers for the cure of mental sufferers; 10) Feeling uncomfortable with the existence of people with mental disorders. Therefore, people need to be given information about mental disorders so that people can treat public with mental disorders humanely involving.

Abstrak : Penderita gangguan jiwa sampai sekarang masih di pandang sebagai orang yang aneh dan menakutkan, kurangnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai gangguan jiwa menyebabkan penderita gangguan jiwa kurang diterima di lingkungan masyarakat.Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerimaan masyarakat pada penderita gangguan jiwa. Desain yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode in-depth interview kemudian dianalisa dengan menggunakan tehnik analisa data collaizzi. Pengambilan sample menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah 4 partisipan.Hasil penelitian adalah ditemukannya 10 tema yaitu 1) Tidak menganggap penderita gangguan jiwa; 2) Masih terdapat sedikit perhatian masyarakat terhadap penderita gangguan jiwa; 3) Memperlakukan penderita gangguan jiwa secara tidak manusiawi; 4) Masyarakat belum menerima sepenuhnya penderita gangguan jiwa; 5) Menganggap tekanan batin sebagai penyebab gangguan jiwa; 6) Menganggap roh halus sebagai penyebab gangguan jiwa; 7) Menganggap tidak kuat ilmu sebagai penyebab gangguan jiwa; 8) Menginginkan penderita gangguan jiwa dapat kembali berinteraksi dengan masyarakat; 9) Mendapatkan perhatian dari petugas kesehatan demi kesembuhan penderita gangguan jiwa; 10) Merasa tidak nyaman dengan keberadaan penderita gangguan jiwa. Oleh sebab itu masyarakat perlu diberikan informasi mengenai gangguan jiwa sehingga masyarakat dapat memperlakukan penderita gangguan jiwa secara manusiawi.
